BackGround:
Add new attribute called "username" in OUD schema from ODSM console and tried to restart the service.
Issue:
[03/Nov/2014:12:29:49 -0500] category=CORE severity=NOTICE msgID=458891 msg=The Directory Server has sent an alert notification generated by class org.opends.server.core.DirectoryServer (alert type org.opends.server.DirectoryServerShutdown, alert ID 458893): The Directory Server has started the shutdown process. The shutdown was initiated by an instance of class org.opends.server.core.DirectoryServer and the reason provided for the shutdown was An error occurred while trying to start the Directory Server: An objectclass read from schema configuration file 00-core.ldif could not be parsed: The definition for the objectclass with OID 2.16.840.1.113730.3.2.2 declared that it should include optional attribute "username". Solution:
Remove "00-core.ldif"file from "/home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware_OUD/asinst_1/OUD/config/schema" folder only. Make sure you don't delete "00-core.ldif" file in "/home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware_OUD/Oracle_OUD1/config/schema" folder.
Now, try to start the service. It should start now.

ReplyDeleteI ran into a similar error and got it resolved with your solution. My OUD version is 11.1.2.2 and couldn't find the solution anywhere including oracle support site. Thanks for sharing.
